Jakarta (VNA) - BankIndonesia (BI) and the Bank of Korea (BoK) on March 6 agreed to renew a bilaterallocal currency swap agreement for up to 115 trillion rupiah or 10.7 trillion won (7.52 billion USD).

Signed by BI Governor Perry Warjiyo and BoKGovernor Rhee Chang-yong, the deal is aimed to promote bilateral trade and financialcooperation for economic development of the two countries while supporting thesettlement of trade in local currency between the two nations even in times offinancial stress.

It will be effective for three new years until March 5, 2026.The central banks initially signed the swap deal in 2014 and extended it in2017 and 2020./.
