Indonesia, Singapore enhance bilateral cooperation

Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong held talks on April 22 in the margin of the Asian-African Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia to discuss bilateral cooperation.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong held talks on April 22 in the margin of the Asian-African Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia to discuss bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to boost cooperation in dealing with anti-corruption.

Widodo called for investment from Singapore in infrastructure and expressed his wish that Singapore would be a bigger consumer of Indonesian agricultural products.

The two leaders also agreed to enhance cooperation in building, packaging and preserving and tourism.

Last year, arrivals from Singapore reached 1.5 million, making it the largest market of Indonesia ’s tourism sector.

Currently, Singapore is the third largest trade partner of Indonesia after China and Japan.-VNA
