Indonesia will host a joint anti-terrorism exercise between the armies of ASEAN member countries and their eight dialogue partners (ASEAN+8) at the Indonesian military Peace Keeping Centre in Bogor, West Java in September 2013.
Indonesian Defence Ministry’s Secretary Budiman said that his country will host the joint exercise as co-chair along with the US in the ASEAN Defense Minister Plus Eight Countries programme.
The eight partners will include the US, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Australia, Russia, China, India, New Zealand and Japan.
Budiman said the Peace Keeping Centre in Bogor is currently under development progress which is expected to be completed and ready to be used on the date of event.
In a related development, on behalf of Indonesian Deputy Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Budiman delivered a keynote speech in the 2013 Indonesia-ROK Security and Defence Seminar in Jakarta, in which he said the two countries have nurtured a strong mutual cooperation.-VNA
