Indonesian bank opens branch in Seoul

Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has opened a branch office in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, in Wise Tower, on February 15, according to the Antara news agency.

Jakarta (VNA) – Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has opened a branch office in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, in Wise Tower, on February 15, according to the Antara news agency.

Director of the office Wan Andi Aryati said the banking industry in the RoK is already shaken, but BNI still sees market potential here, adding that BNI Seoul wants to be a bridge to establish cooperation between Indonesia and the RoK by providing loans and other related banking services.

BNI Seoul will also provide services for Korean businessmen who want to invest in Indonesia, as well as target the Indonesian labour market in the RoK, which is now approx. 40,000 people.

Cooperation in trade and investment between Indonesia and the RoK are still positive. The demand for Indonesian products and Korean investment in the country are progressive.

Data from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) shows that Korean direct investment in Indonesia in the last five years is ranked fourth with a value of more than 7 billion USD.

Currently, there are 2,700 Korean companies working in Indonesia.-VNA
