Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo is going to pay a visit to Malaysia during which he will hold an annual consultation with Prime Minister Najib Razak in Kuching, the capital of the eastern Malaysian state of Serawak, on November 22.
ANTARA news agency reported on November 18 that the Indonesian President will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Arrmanatha Nasir, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.
The two leaders will discuss a range of issues of shared concern, including those related to border, security and defence, as well as measures to foster economic cooperation.
The two sides are expected to release an initiative to set up a council of palm oil producing countries.
The initiative is aimed at fighting the negative campaign against the Indonesian palm oil industry by the European Union, which has accused Indonesia of destroying the environment and health.
The palm oil output of Indonesia and Malaysia accounts for 82 percnet of the world figure, with a value of over 13.6 billion USD.
In addition, the two leaders will also look into the placement and protection of Indonesian migrant workers employed in Malaysia, as well as the management of the agricultural sector in the border areas.-VNA
