Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s anti-terrorism forces have been on high alert after the bloody attacks in Paris on November 13.
Deputy head of Indonesia’s National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT), Inspector-General Arief Dharmawan has confirmed that the security forces discovered some extremist elements from the Middle East have entered the country and appeared near Jakarta recently.
According to the BNPT official, Cileduk and South Tangerang might become new strongholds of terrorist elements.
The Jakarta’s Post quoted spokesman of Indonesian National Police Suharsono as saying that the agency has strengthen security outside embassies, consulates , especially France’s embassy and some French language centres.
Security will also tightened in public areas such as commercial centres, theatres, and stadiums.-VNA
