The relations have been thriving after the two countries set up their strategic partnership in 2013. That Vietnam is the only strategic partner of Indonesia in ASEAN showed Vietnam is important and strategic to Indonesia and vice versa, he said.

The ambassador stated that the relations are being reinforced as the two countries’ State, and Government senior officials made more contacts in Indonesia and Vietnam and at international forums.

Referring to economic, trade and investment activities, the diplomat noted that in the first half of this year, two-way trade hit 3.18 billion USD, expanding by 24.18 percent year on year.
