Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia has expanded its mineral and coal online tracking system Simbara, which was launched in 2022, to encompass nickel and tin commodities.
As reported by the country’s national news agency Antara, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said before the inclusion of tin and nickel commodities into the system, it succeeded in preventing the leakage of state revenues from illegal mining methods and evasion of payment of state revenues worth 3.47 trillion IDR (270 million USD).
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that Indonesia stood to gain income worth 5 trillion-R10 trillion IDR from the inclusion.
He said he believes that integrating tin and nickel commodities into Simbara can make entrepreneurs more orderly in doing business in the mineral sector.
