Hanoi (VNA) – Inspection work has received special attention from the CommunistParty of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh throughout the process of building apolitically, ideologically and organizationally strong party.

Thebrief statutes of the Party issued in October 1930 clearly stipulated that “Partymembers and organisations have the responsibility of strictly adhering to Partydiscipline.

Inspectionand supervision play an important role in enhancing the leadership and combatcapacity of the Party, and in building pure and strong Party organisations. Thework also provides the foundation for implementing other tasks in Partybuilding.

Inrecent years, in implementing the Resolution of the 12th National PartyCongress and the resolution of the 12th Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum on Party building and rectification, the Party’s inspection commissionsat central and lower levels have made great efforts in fighting the degradationin political ideology, morality and lifestyle, and preventing and combatingcorruption.

Throughinspection and supervision work, many complicated cases that drew publicconcern have been brought to light and handled in a transparent and strictmanner, such as the cases at the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group(PetroVietnam), the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), the Bank forInvestment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), the Ministry of Industry andTrade, the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the General Departmentof Police.

Theinspection commissions at central and lower levels have imposed strictdisciplinary measures on many Party organisations and members that have violatedthe law and Party regulations, and transferred many cases to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Party Central Committee Secretariat and all-level PartyCommittees for handling. Among those who have been punished, there werehigh-ranking officials of the Party and State, retired officials, high-ranking officersin the army, which show there is no such thing as banned zone in dealing withviolations.

The Politburo and theParty Central Committee Secretariat have also given disciplinary measures toseven Party organisations.

PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that was a painful fact, but there isno other choice for the common cause of the Party, the country and the people. He underlined that those cases serve as profound and high-cost lessons, and requiredeach member of the Party Central Committee, and every official, Party memberand public servant to unceasingly train and improve themselves.

Theoutcomes of inspection work have contributed to the effective struggle against thedegradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle, and demonstrated theParty’s political resolve in preventing and combating corruption as well asnegative phenomena.

Standingmember of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong stressedthe importance of detecting violations through supervision activities, thepress and people’s denunciation.
