International agricultural fair kicks off

The Vietnam International Agriculture Fair opened on Dec. 6 in the southern city of Can Tho .

The fair, which will run until December 12, has attracted more than 270domestic and foreign businesses, including those from Thailand , China, India , the US , Japan , the Republic of Korea and Singapore.

Products on display at 560 booths include machines,production lines for post-harvest processing and preserving agriculturalproducts, as well as animal feed, seafood, rice, vegetables and fruit,animals, fertilisers and pesticides.

Other activitiesinclude a farmer contest, agricultural conferences, trade promotions andsigning ceremonies for technology-transfer projects.

Outstanding green credit reaches 828 trillion VND

To date, loans subject to environmental and social risk assessments have exceeded 5.1 quadrillion VND (some 193.6 billion USD), representing an almost 25-fold increase compared with the end of 2017 and accounting for 27.7% of total outstanding credit in the economy.

Singapore is currently the Mekong Delta city’s largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI), with 12 active projects totalling nearly 320 million USD in registered capital.
