Hanoi (VNA) – Millions of Vietnamese nationals, both in Vietnam and aboard, are now able to obtain an international driving licence online after the Ministry of Transport (MoT) officially launched the Class 4 service to issue international licences online.

Phan Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Head of the Vietnam Road Administration under the MoT, said the online issuance of the international licence aid Vietnamese labourers, students and officials working and studying in member countries of the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.

The Class 4 public service is the highest level of the administrative reform and creates favourable conditions for people driving in Vietnam and abroad, said Hien.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong said the transition from Class 3 to Class 4 licence-issuing aims to boost the ongoing MoT administrative reforms.

Those who want to get international licences can register at www.drvn.gov.vn and www.dichvucong.gplx.gov.vn:8000.

The fee for each licence is 135,000 VND (approximately 6 USD) not including delivery charges.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1
