Co-organised by the Department of Performing Arts and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the six-day event has attracted the participation of eight foreign teams from Australia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Egypt, Hungary, Laos and Singapore, together with five teams from host Vietnam.
Their performances, which are required to last between 7 and 12 minutes each, include magic shows, juggling and clown acts.
Participating performers will spend October 18 and 19 serving audiences at the Vietnam Circus and Vaudeville School in Cau Giay district.
The festival is a cultural event to foster cooperation between Vietnam and other nations in the field and a chance for the country to promote its circus art and learn from international friends, said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong in his opening remarks./.
