A delegation of mechanical engineering businesses from the Italian region of Emilia Romagna will make a fact finding tour of Vietnam from June 7-11 to explore the market and meet with potential Vietnamese partners, said Italy’s Trade Counsellor Marco Saladini.

Speaking to the press on June 1, Mr Saladini said that the delegation will hold 15 meetings with Vietnamese businesses in HCM City on June 7-8 and in Hanoi from June 9-11.

Apart from the programme of meetings organised by the Italian trade mission in Vietnam, a seminar on advanced technologies will also be held.

The delegation to Vietnam includes six businesses that specialise in equipment and accessories for cars, food production, agricultural machinery and hydraulic equipment. Of these businesses, Ducati Motors, Sai Spa and Galtech products are already being sold in Vietnam.

According to the Italian trade office in Vietnam, the Emilia Romagna region made over 30 percent or almost 47 million EUR of Italy’s total mechanical engineering exports that were shipped to Vietnam last year. The overall value of Italia mechanical engineering exports to Vietnam is currently minimal but increases every year.

The region of Emilia Romagna has targeted Vietnam as one of the countries where it believes it could expand its mechanical engineering sector, said the trade office./.
