Hanoi (VNA) – The Government of Italy has agreed to provide preferential loans for Vietnam to enhance its flood warning capability and wastewater treatment.
The loan agreement, worth a total of 13.7 million EUR, was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong and Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni in Hanoi on October 19.
9.7 million USD will be used for the first phase of the project to upgrade the wastewater collection and treatment network in the southern province of Tay Ninh.
The remaining four million EUR will be used for the second phase of the project on enhancing the capability of the central region in flood warning and adapting to climate change.-VNA
