A ceremony to transfer the Tam Dao 3 rig to owner, Vietsovpetro, washeld on Mar. 30 at the PetroVietnam Marine shipyard in the southern cityof Vung Tau.

With a 145m jacket, the Tam Dao 3 is able to drill wells up to a depth of 6,100m.

As a project of national importance, the construction of the rig hasbeen recognised by the Vietnam Shipping Registration Agency and theAmerican Bureau of Shipping.

Following this success, whichmarks a milestone for maritime construction in Vietnam, Vietsovpetrohave placed another order with the yard for a second jack up drillingrig.

The company will also build a drilling barge able todrill up to 10,000m, ordered by PetroVietnam Drilling and Well ServicesCorporation.-VNA
