Japan has proposed a cooperation programme on mapping out projects to build Hanoi-Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang express railways, the Vietnam Railway Corporation said.
According to the corporation, the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on Nov. 2 sent a diplomatic note to Vietnam ’s Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Vietnam .
The note covered recent discussions between representatives from the Japan Foreign Ministry and MPI, proposing to add technical cooperation to the programme and make the two projects a reality in Japan ’s 2010 fiscal year.
Three days later, the MPI sent a diplomatic note to the Embassy to accept the supplementary technical assistance./.
