Japanese business associations donate to COVID-19 vaccine fund

The Japanese Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) has donated 20,000 USD to Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund, an initiative aiming to provide enough vaccines for the inoculation of at least 75 percent of the country’s population.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Japanese Business Associationof Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) has donated 20,000 USD to Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccinefund, an initiative aiming to provide enough vaccines for the inoculation of atleast 75 percent of the country’s population.

The JCCH has also called on its member companies tocontribute to the fund. Together with the JCCH, the Japan Business Associationin Vietnam and the Japanese Business Association in Da Nang have donated to thefund.

The contribution demonstrates the Japanese businesscommunity’s support for the Vietnamese government’s drive to speed up thepurchase of vaccines and mass vaccination against the coronavirus.

Earlier this week, the Japan-based AEON Group announcedit would contribute 25 billion VND (around 1.08 million USD) to Vietnam’sCOVID-19 vaccine fund, joining hands with the Vietnamese Government to stampout the pandemic.

The national COVID-19 vaccine fund had received over 7.4trillion VND (321.7 million USD) as of 5pm on June 23. The sum was donated by338,346 individuals and organisations./.

Breeding cows presented to poor households along Vietnam–Cambodia border

Accordingly, leaders of the Border Guard High Command and Tay Ninh province of Vietnam, and Svay Teap district in Svay Rieng province of Cambodia presented 20 breeding cows, valued at 20 million VND (760 USD) each, to 20 households - 10 in Long Thuan commune (Tay Ninh) and 10 in Monorom commune of Svay Teap district.
