Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Trinh Duy Hung on Dec. 6 received a Japanese business delegation, which is on a visit to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities in agriculture.
Hung informed the Japanese guests about the government’s policies to encourage agricultural and rural development and the city’s project on building new rural areas in the 2010-2020 and orientation till 2030, which is valued at 32 trillion VND (1.6 billion USD).
On behalf of the Japanese delegation, the Director of BP Mihama company, Enomoto Tasuo said that during Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet to Japan in November this year, his company signed a contract with Binh Minh Company of Vietnam to transfer technology to produce clean vegetables and flowers, treatment of water for clean agricultural production and buying Binh Minh products for sale at the Japanese market.
At present, Japanese experts are coordinating with Binh Minh Company to carry out the project in Dan Phuong district of Hanoi.
The project is expected to be put into operation from 2011 and most of its products will be exported to Japan with part of them to be supplied to Hanoi .
The project is designed to generate jobs for hundreds of local workers./.
