Jetstar Pacific launches Dong Hoi-Chiang Mai service

Low-cost airline Jetstar Pacific officially launched a direct service between Dong Hoi airport in Vietnam’s Quang Binh central province and Chiang Mai in northern Thailand on August 11.

Hanoi (VNA) – Low-cost airline JetstarPacific officially launched a direct service between Dong Hoi airport in Vietnam’s Quang Binhcentral province and Chiang Mai in northern Thailand on August 11. 

The first flight from Dong Hoiairport to Chiang Mai carried nearly 180 passengers while the return flight hadmore than 150 travellers on board. 

The service’s launch is part of the cooperationagreement between the airline and Quang Binh’s authorities aiming at servingincreasing travelling demand and stimulating tourism growth in Vietnam’scentral region and Thailand’s northern localities. 

[Jetstar launches direct routes from Hanoi, Da Nang to Japan’s Osaka]

According to Jetstar Pacific, nearly 5,000 ticketson the route have been booked. In the initial period, the airline will operatetwo two-way flights on the route each week, on Monday and Friday. 

The Quang Binh-Chiang Mai flight takes only 1 hourand 40 minutes, compared to two days if travelling by car.  

Tickets are available at www.jetstar.com and allticket agents from 620,000 VND (27.3 USD) one leg. 

The low-cost airline is operating several servicesbetween Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok. It plans to open a route connecting DaNang in central Vietnam and Japan’s Osaka on September 1 and Hanoi-Osaka onSeptember 2.

Being the first low-cost airline in Vietnam,Jetstar Pacific is operating 36 domestic and international routes, which arelinked with the network of Jetstar Group covering 80 destinations in 17countries in Asia-Pacific. It has two main shareholders being the national flagcarrier Vietnam Airlines and Qantas Airways. -VNA
