HCM City (VNA) - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) wantsto promote agricultural partnerships between Vietnam and Japan, with a focus onprivate sector investment and food value chains.

JICA spoke about the effort at aseminar held in HCM City on January 26 organised by JICA, the Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the Vietnam Farmer’s Union (VFU).

Officials, businesses, groups andindividuals with interest in the topic attended the event, which discussed creatingfood value chains in Nghe An province and current challenges.

Besides exchanging ideas onagricultural development, calls for investments from private companies inagriculture were also heard.

The seminar was held on the occasion ofthe 5th Japan- Vietnam Festival in HCM City.-VNA
