The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is building five provincial-level hospitals, with a total investment capital of over 5.5 trillion VND (250 million USD).

Kien Giang(VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is building fiveprovincial-level hospitals, with a total investment capital of over 5.5trillion VND (250 million USD).

The facilities consist ofa 1,200-bed general hospital, a 200-bed tuberculosis hospital, a 400-bed cancerhospital, a 100-bed psychiatry hospital, and a 400-bed obstetrics andpaediatrics hospital.

According to theprovincial Department of Health, once operational the hospitals will markedlyhelp reduce the current overload from the current 24.4 beds per 10,000 peopleto 26 beds by 2020.

Kien Giang is short of600 doctors to meet the target of nine doctors for every 10,000 people in2020.-VNA

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer
