Lai Da ancient village - Hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Lai Da Village, located in Dong Hoi Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi, lies beside the Duong River, about 8 km from Hanoi's city center. This village retains many ancient and familiar features of the traditional Northern Vietnamese countryside, including a banyan tree, a well, and a communal house.

Legend has it that, Lai Da Village was established around the same time with the ancient Co Loa Citadel.

Despite the passage of time, the village still preserves lots of historical features, with architectures reflecting the characteristics of the Northern Delta region.

They include the communal house dedicated to Nguyen Hien, the first Doctorate holder at the Tran Dynasty, a shrine dedicated to Saint Mother Tien Dung, who assisted Nguyen Hien, and a pagoda named Canh Phuc.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 1989 recognized Lai Da architectural and artistic complex as a national heritage site./.
