Nghe An (VNA) – Officials from Lao localities have visited the border central province of Nghe An ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).
On January 18, Vice Governor of Bolykhamsay province Bulma Buchalan visited and extended New Year wishes to the locality.
Earlier the same day, a working delegation led by Governor of Houaphane province Vansay Phengsumma also arrived in the province.
Leaders of Nghe An’s localities wished that both sides would continue exchanges and cooperation to tighten bilateral friendship.
Sharing a 419.5km border with Laos, Nghe An borders Xiengkhouang, Houaphane and Bolykhamsay provinces.
Last year, Nghe An’s exports to Lao reached 6.5 million USD.
Nghe An has helped Xiengkhouang build a cultural house and is completing procedures to build a hospital in the province.-VNA
