Leaders extend greetings to VNA on revolutionary press day

Leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front have visited and sent floral greetings to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 90th Vietnam Revolution Press Day.
Leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) havevisited and sent floral greetings to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) onthe occasion of the 90th Vietnam Revolution Press Day (June 21,1925-2015).

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan sentbouquets to the VNA.

Meanwhile, during his visit to theVNA, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party CentralCommittee and Head of the Central Party Committee’s Commission forEducation and Communications, said after 70 years of operation, the VNAhas fulfilled its role as the Party and State’s strategic media body.

VNA news and information have served as important sources for the mediasystem in the country as well as researchers, he stated.

At the same time, Politburo member and VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhanlauded efforts of the agency in popularising policies and directions ofthe Party and State to the public, acting as a bridge connecting theParty, State and the people through over 60 publications in 9 foreignlanguages and 12 ethnic minority languages.

He alsopraised the VNA’s activeness in boosting international cooperation aswell as providing support to news agencies of Laos , Cambodia andCuba .

VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed thatthe agency will continue exerting efforts in the role of a State newsagency, serving as a strategic and trustworthy media agency of the Partyand State, thus contributing to the building and development of thecountry.

Earlier, Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member andSecretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Nguyen The Thao,Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee also paid visits to the VNA.They recognised the achievements that the agency has made over the pastyears, deserving its position as the national news agency and one of thetop public media agencies in Vietnam .

A Ho Chi MinhCity delegation led by Vice Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Vo Van Thuong visited and convey greetings to VNARepresentative Office in the Southern Region. Meanwhile, leaders of thecentral province of Nghe An also extended greetings to VNArepresentative office in Nghe An.

On the occasion, nearly90 delegations and representatives from ministries, central agencies andlocalities, paid greeting visits to the VNA.

Establishedin 1945, the VNA has played a significant part in the nationalconstruction and development course. The agency has been honoured withthe titles of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, and Labour Hero ofReform Era.-VNA
