Leaders extend New Year congratulations

The Party and NA leader lauded the NA Office’s active and effective contributions to the achievements of the NA over the past year.

He also pointed out the necessity for the NA and its agencies to fulfil the 12th legislature and competently prepare for the election of the 13th NA and for People's Councils at all levels.

Also on this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung extended his best wishes to staff at the Directorate for Crime Prevention and the Directorate of Security 2 during his visits on January 26.

The PM praised the efforts made by the police and security forces last year, which helped to ensure political security, public safety and overcome all difficulties and challenges, raising the country’s prestige and status in the international arena.

PM Dung also noted the need to build strong and transparent police and security forces with close connection with the people as well as the importance of Party building work. He added that a modern force is also necessary for dealing with high-tech criminals.

On the afternoon of the same day, PM Dung paid a visit to Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and extended his Tet wishes to the staff.

PetroVietnam has reflected the role of the State-owned enterprise and led the country in contributing to the State budget as well as stabilised the oil and gas market, said the PM.

He asked PetroVietnam to expand exploration of both domestic and foreign oil wells and devise an exploitation plan to ensure national energy security.

He said that the group should expand oil and gas products manufacturing plants and pay attention to human resources training.

On January 25-26, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong paid a visit to the northern province of Ha Giang’s Party Committee and people and extended his congratulations for Tet.

When expressing his delight at the achievements the province has made in recent times, Deputy PM Trong stressed that the province should pay more attention to Party building work to successfully implement socio-economic development programme as well as human resources training in rural and ethnic minority areas.

He also handed over 2,500 gifts worth 500 million VND to support poor households in the province during the upcoming Tet festival.

The same day, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung visited and sent his Tet wishes to staff of Pha Rung Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Industry Corporation under Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

Deputy PM Hung praised Vinashin’s efforts in overcoming difficulties and making important contributions to opening a stable and new growth period of the sector.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai visited and sent his best wishes for Tet to the Party Committee, authorities and people of the central province of Binh Thuan on Jan. 26.

Meanwhile, To Huy Rua, Politburo member and Head of the Commission for Popularisation and Education of the Party Central Committee, visited and extended his congratulations for Tet to Director of the Centre for Supporting Traditional Culture and Technology Prof. Dr. Pham Dang Nhat and President of the Vietnam Literature Association Huu Thinh.

For the same purpose, member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Deputy Director of the Vietnam People’s Army Ngo Xuan Lich visited the northern province of Hoa Binh province./.
