He highlighted the significant role that theCatholic community played in helping the city surmount difficulties lastyear to fulfil its socio-economic development targets.

The city’s leader hoped that with his reputation and clout,Archbishop Bui Van Doc will encourage Catholic dignitaries and followersto continue working for a thriving city and nation.

Quan then visited the Committee for Solidarity of VietnameseCatholics’ Ho Chi Minh City chapter and the Evangelical Church ofVietnam (South).

He said he hopes the committeewill continue working closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front andother organisations in improving the material and spiritual lives ofreligious groups and disadvantaged people.

Manysouthern provinces, including Binh Duong and Ben Tre, have beenorganising meetings with local religious communities to wish them ahappy new year.-VNA

Under the dicision, ministries and ministerial-level agencies will assume responsibility for tasks previously performed by the committee, in line with their mandates under the Law on Government Organisation, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, the Law on Roads and other relevant legal frameworks, ensuring that traffic safety and order are maintained without disrupiton.
