Leaders laud Japanese ambassador’s service

Receiving Ambassador Tanizaki Yasuaki in Hanoi on September 18, Party leader Trong thanked the ambassador for his efforts to bolster Vietnam-Japan cooperation and his warm feelings for Vietnam .
He noted that the ambassador has undertaken an important mission of deploying the content of the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership during his tenure in Vietnam .

In the context of the global economic downturn and the difficult situation in both countries, particularly the devastating earthquake in Japan in March 2011, bilateral ties still enjoyed good development, with rapidly expanding economic-trade and investment cooperation, General Secretary Trong said.

He added that Japanese-funded official development assistance has helped fuel Vietnam ’s socio-economic development over the past time.

The Japanese Ambassador stressed that the Japanese Government and political parties in Japan attach special importance to ties with Vietnam.

He promised that in any position, he will do his best to lift Japan-Vietnam ties to a new height.
At a reception in Hanoi the same day for the Japanese diplomat, NA Chairman Hung voiced pleasure at the friendship and cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties 40 years ago, particularly after the upgrading of relation to strategic partnership.

The bilateral cooperation in various fields including economics, politics, diplomacy, ODA, and education-training not only benefits Vietnam and Japan but also contributes practically to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region, he added.

For his part, Ambassador Tanizaki thanked the Vietnamese government and National Assembly for creating favourable conditions for him to fulfill his mission in Vietnam .

He said Chairman Hung’s visit to Japan in late 2012 played an important role in fostering the friendship relation between the two countries, especially the multifaceted cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

The Japanese diplomat asked the Vietnamese NA and Government to continue facilitate Japanese investment projects in the country.-VNA
