Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau spoke before Lao officials in Vientiane on April 27 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam.
At the talk, Ambassador Chau highlighted the Vietnamese people’s glorious feats of arms in the cause of US resistance, the liberation of the south and national reunification.
He affirmed that the Vietnamese people’s victory against the US was the greatest achievement in the cause of national liberation led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, ending 117 years of colonial rule and leading the country into an era of independence, freedom and socialism.
He underlined the reasons for the victory and the lessons drawn from the national liberation, affirming that the sound leadership of the Party and international solidarity, including alliances with the Lao and Cambodian people, were decisive factors leading to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution.
On the occasion, Ambassador Chau thanked the Lao Party, Government and people for their invaluable support for Vietnam during the US-resistance war. The special friendship and solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless asset of the two nations that should be protected from generation to generation, he said.
