A signing ceremony for loan contracts between the People’s Bank of China (PBC) and An Khanh Electricity Joint Stock Company (An Khanh Company) took place on Dec. 22 in Hanoi .
According to the contract, PBC will provide An Khanh Company with 143 million USD to continue construction of An Khanh Thermal Power Plant 1 project in An Khanh commune, Dai Tu district of the northern province of Thai Nguyen.
Stage one of An Khanh Thermal Power Plant 1, with the capacity of 100 MW, started in January last year, with a total investment of 168 million USD.
The plant’s first turbine is scheduled to become operational by September, 2012, with the second to follow in the second quarter of 2013.
Once completed by the third quarter of 2013, the plant will be connected to the national grid and generate 800 million KWh per year./.
