Local, foreign artisans gather for kite festival

Up to 97 kite artisans from 17 local clubs and 20 foreign teams will participate in the sixth Ba Ria - Vung Tau International Kite Festival 2015.

The annual event will take place fromApril 21-26, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sportsand Tourism.

Vung Tau city will be the mainvenue for the event, which will include kite flying, a kite exhibitionand clinics on making kites.

With leadingVietnamese and global kite artisans, the festival promises to be aneye-catching occasion for locals and visitors, according to organisers.

The festival will have a number of new features this year, such as flying kites to music and night flying.

Vietnam’s traditional kites, with flutes attached, will be introduced to international friends at the festival.

There will be a kite demonstration by local and internationalartisans on April 23 at Ho Tram Strip, a five-star resort, in Xuyen Mocdistrict.

The southern coastal province also unveiled information on the 2015 Vung Tau Cuisine Festival.

The festival is expected to have 74 booths from 37 enterprises, including from Thailand, Ukraine, and Malaysia.

The annual festival has become one of the province’s mainattractions, introducing local and foreign dishes to locals andinternational tourists.-VNA

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
