The ceremony to start of construction of the solar power plant in Long An province on September 16 (Photo: VNA) Long An(VNA) – Construction for a 40.6MW solar power plant started in the Mekong Deltaprovince of Long An on September 16.
Invested by the BCGBang Duong company, a member of the Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), the projectcovers 50.2 hectares and has total investment of 42 million USD in Thanh Ancommune of Thanh Hoa district.
Tran Van Can, Chairmanof the provincial People’s Committee, said that this is the first solar projectthat the province has hosted, which is a milestone in the province’s new power developmentprogramme.
The operation of theplant will pave the way for other similar projects in the locality, he said.
When becoming operational,the plan sets to produce about 60 million kWh of power each year, helpingenhancing the capacity of the national power grid.
The project includesthe construction of an 110kV transformer station in Thanh Hoa district, a roadsystem, and a pumping station system for reservoirs and a 9km transmission line.
It is scheduled to completeand put into operation by June 2019.
Nguyen Ho Nam, BCGPresident said that the firm will cooperate closely with world leadingenterprises in solar power for best quality and ensure environmental safety.
It has partnered with SyntegraSolar of Germany as the designer and monitor, he noted.
Nam said that the solarpanels used in the project is made with latest technology.-VNA
