As a curtain raiser, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat will be held in Kota Kinabalu city, capital of Sabah state on January 27-28.

As many as 400 police from the General Operations Force have been deployed to strengthen security control in the east coast of Sabah, said Director of the Internal Security and Public Order Department Muhammad Fuad Abu Zarim.

Besides, the Royal Malaysia Police will station its personnel and officers in strategic locations, including in states where ministerial meetings will be held, he added.

The 27th ASEAN Summit is scheduled for November 27 in Kuala Lumpur.-VNA
