Hanoi (VNA) – The Malaysian Government is investigating the possibility of foreign agents’ involvement in a drive-by shooting that killed a Palestinian scholar in Kuala Lumpur on April 21.
The announcement was made at a press conference by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who said early investigation showed that two assassins of the Palestinian lecturer could be Caucasians linked to an intelligence organisation of a country.
The victim, Fadi Mohammad al-Batsh, 35, was walking from his apartment in Kuala Lumpur to a dawn prayer on April 21 when he was shot by two gunmen riding a motorcycle. The man died immediately.
Closed-circuit television showed the assassins had waited for him for almost 20 minutes, local police said.-VNA
