Hanoi (VNA) - Malaysia and Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) on Information and Communications on January 17.
The signing ceremony took place between Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak and visiting Japanese Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Sanae Takaichi.
According to a statement issued by the International Division under Malaysia’s Communications and Multimedia Ministry, the MoC aimed to enhance cooperation related to information technology, particularly for disaster management, cyber-security, mobile digital wallet, 5G technology, and the internet of things.
The pact also included broadcasting collaboration and the organisation of joint practices against cyber terrorists.
Malaysia expected to learn from Japan’s technology and experience – for instance, the country’s fast information dissemination for disaster evacuation.-VNA
