Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia has launched its MalaysiaBiz portal, which serves as a one stop centre to facilitate online business registrations and licensing applications, aiming to create a trade-friendly environment to encourage competitiveness and spur local economic growth.
The MalaysiaBiz Portal (https://malaysiabiz.gov.my) is an online system that integrates 17 government agencies to enable traders to get services through one gateway. It is part of efforts in sustaining public service delivery improvement in moving towards digital government.
In his speech at the launch, Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the portal was developed as the government realised the importance of digital platforms in businesses and contributions of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to national income.
Muhyiddin said SMEs contributed 38.9 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019 and the figure is expected to reach 50 percent by 2030.
He said as the trend of online shopping these days shows that SMEs have the potential to grow rapidly, measures to generate SME growth will continue to be given priority./.
