Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on May 15 announced that a cabinet reform will take place soon in an attempt to fulfill current needs and fill up vacancies.
In a statement on his personal website, the PM stressed the necessity of the reshuffle when Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas has stepped down and Deputy Minister Noriah Kason of this ministry was killed in an aviation accident.
In Sarawak state election last week, the 61-year-old Douglas was elected to the sate assembly and he was appointed as Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Rural Economy and the First Deputy Chief Minister of the Sarawak on May 13
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Noriah Kason and five other people were killed in a helicopter accident in Sebuyau on May 5.-VNA

Malaysia’s Cabinet Committee Meeting on Foreign Workers and Illegal Immigrants has agreed on compulsory regular health screenings for foreign labourers during their employment in the country.
