Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will establish a high-level committee to address resolutions on the cost of living declared at the Priority Declaration 2016 meeting held on December 28.
The New Straits Times cited Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as saying the new body will comprise six ministers and their respective secretaries-general.
He listed the ministers who will be part of the committee, including those from the ministries of domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism, and international trade and industry.
He said he will arrange a meeting with his superior to discuss the group’s formation.
Concluding the function, he said he hopes the committee will convene in the first week of January 2016.
At a press conference after the session, the Deputy PM said that the operation of the committee will not overlap with the responsibilities of the special cabinet committee on the rising cost of living.-VNA
