Malaysian businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market and recognize fine investment environment in the country.
The statement was delivered by Michael Chai, Chairman of the Legal Committee under the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KLCCCI) at a seminar on investment promotion that took place in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur on October 21.
The event, co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy, the KLCCCI and the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) , drew representatives of Vietnamese relevant ministries along with 450 representatives from Malaysian agencies, economic organisations and businesses.
The seminar aims to help Malaysian agencies and businesses understand more about Vietnam ’s policies, thus seeking out investment opportunities in the country.

Addressing the event, Le Thi Hoang Cuc, Vietnamese Embassy’s chargé d'affaires , expressed her belief that the seminar would provide participants with useful information regarding investment and business in Vietnam , contributing to boosting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Nguyen Ba Cuong, Head of the Investment Promotion under the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, said that areas regarding manufacturing of new materials, renewable energy and high-tech products; and the development of bio-technology, information and technology, agriculture-fishery, labour-intensive industries and infrastructure are in need of investment in Vietnam .
Education and health care are also included in the top priorities as Vietnam has many large-scale hospitals but lacks modern facilities, he added./.
