Man prosecuted for alleged abuse of freedom, democracy

Police have officially commenced criminal proceedings against Nguyen Son Lo, a man residing in Hanoi, for the charge of “abusing the rights of freedom and democracy to violate the State’s interests, rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals” under Article 331 of the Penal Code.

Hanoi (VNA) – Police haveofficially commenced criminal proceedings against Nguyen Son Lo, a man residing in Hanoi, for the charge of “abusingthe rights of freedom and democracy to violate the State’s interests, rightsand legitimate interests of organisations and individuals” under Article 331 ofthe Penal Code.

The Investigation Security Agency under theMinistry of Public Security issued the decision on July 27.

Lo was bornin 1948. He resides in Hai Ba Trung district and works at the SENA Research Institutefor Technology and Development.

Police also search his home andworkplace, banned him from living the place of residence, and temporarilysuspended his exit from Vietnam.

The moves were taken after the investigation agency received approval from the Supreme People’s Procuracy./.

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year
