Positive news from the Dow Jones overnight and the slow pace of domestic inflation failed to cheer up national stock exchanges as the VN-Index closed off by 0.06 percent to 506.56 on July 20.

Thevalue of day trades continued to be brisk at 1.4 trillion VND (73.7million USD) on the transaction of 47.3 million shares, of which OceanGroup was the most active stock with a volume of 2.25 million.

The HNX-Index of Hanoi Stock Exchange fell again 0.14 percentto close on July 20 session at 160.15.

The value ofday trades was similar to HCM City at 1.4 trillion VND.PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) saw the biggest trading volume with 3.4million shares changing hands./.
