Hanoi (VNA) – The Midterm Vietnam Business Forum 2017 (VBF 2017) will be heldat Sheraton Hotel in Hanoi on June 16, announced the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (VCCI).

Theevent, to be jointly held by the Vietnam Business Forum, the InternationalFinance Corporation, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the WorldBank in Vietnam, will focus on foreign and private sectors amidst the new contextof the world economy.

Theforum is expected to draw representatives of the Government, ministries,sectors as well as international organizations, trade associations and the Vietnambusiness community.

Asscheduled, VBF 2017 will discuss measures to attract more investment from theprivate sector and improve the effectiveness of law enforcement by reviewingthe Law on Investment and Enterprise Law after two years of implementation,along with a number of other relevant laws.

Representativesfrom research working groups on investment and trade, banking, supportingindustry, automobile-motorbike, power and energy, will deliver reports on impactsof global policies such as Brexit, TPP, the Donald Trump administration’s policies,EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership,on Vietnam as well as foreign investment flow into the country.

Theywill also talk the effects of the fourth industrial revolution on Vietnam andhow to maintain and lure more investment amidst the current situation, and theconnection of foreign-invested firms and domestic ones.

VBFwas established in a project of the Vietnam Consultative Group at a meetingbetween the Vietnamese Government and its donor partners in Tokyo in 1997.-VNA
