Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry ofIndustry and Trade (MoIT) will create the best possible conditions for Japaneseautomobile manufacturer Honda to operate in the country, Deputy Minister DoThang Hai affirmed on June 29.

At a reception in Hanoi for Toshio Kuwahara, Presidentand CEO of Asian Honda Motor & Head of Regional Unit (Asia and Oceania), Haihailed Honda Vietnam for its contributions to the Vietnamese economy, especiallythe auto industry, helping tighten the relations between the two countries.

For his part, Toshio thanked the official and the MoITfor their support for Honda Vietnam, presented difficulties facing the company,and raised proposals to help the domestic industry roll out suitable, timelypolicies in support of manufacturers in general and Honda in particular.

Established in 1996, Honda VietnamCompany is a joint venture between Japan Honda Motor Company, Thailand AsianHonda Motor Company and Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation.

Honda Vietnam has one automobile manufacturing plant and three others for motorcyclemanufacturing in the Southeast Asian nation./.

Fuel taxes cut to 0% from April 16

Accordingly, the environmental protection tax on petrol (excluding ethanol), diesel, kerosene, mazut, and aviation fuel has been cut to 0 VND per litre. These products are also exempt from VAT declaration and payment, while still eligible for input VAT credit.
