Month-long events honour cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic minority groups

A kaleidoscope of the cultures, rituals, and cuisine of ethnic minority groups around Vietnam will be highlighted throughout April at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town on the outskirts of Hanoi.

A series of events will be held for the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day on April 19 to introduce visitors to their culture, customs, and practices.

The Organising Board will create a cultural space featuring different cultures of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam’s northwest and northeast regions. The highlight of them is mountain markets, where visitors can not only enjoy typical dishes from each locality, but also enjoy artistic performances and play folk games.

Unique festivals and celebrations of ethnic minority groups around the country will also be reproduced within the framework of the programme.

Notably, an art show entitled “Central Highlands love songs” will be staged as part of the programme, entertaining the audience with folk songs, dances, and music from the Ta Oi, Xo Dang, Co Tu, Raglai, and E De ethnic minority groups./.
