More caves found in Phong Nha-Ke Bang Park

22 previously undiscovered caves have been found after one month of exploration in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, said Dr. Howard Limbert, Chief of the British Cave Research Association, on April 1.

The caves arebetween 400m to 4km long and range from 60m to 100m wide. All of themremain intact and have a startling display of beautiful stalactites.

The Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is working with thecavers to establish their exact dimensions and condition so they candecide on the best ways of protecting them while at the same timedeveloping the local tourist industry.

Phong Nha-KeBang is a national park in the centre of Quang Binh province innorth-central Vietnam . It protects one of the world’s two largestkarst regions with several hundred caves and grottos.

It was first recognised as a world natural heritage site by UNESCO in 2003.-VNA

On October 6, Condé Nast Traveler announced its “Top 15 Resorts in Asia” list as part of the 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.
