The Nha Be Garment’s Joint Stock Corporation (NBC) has said that its “Mattana” brand has been franchised out to an Italian partner who is scheduled to open their first shop in the Italian city of Cagliari early next month.
Under the 10-year franchise, the Italian retailer will sell jackets, shirts and trousers supplied by NBC every month, said the Deputy General Director of NBC Le Mac Thuan, adding that the first 300,000 USD shipment is already on its way to Italy.
Economic analysts in the garment and textile sector say that the franchised NBC brand proves the remarkable progress that Vietnamese garment companies have made promoting their trademarks overseas.
Apart from this franchise, a number of Vietnamese garment businesses have opened chains of shops to sell their products overseas, with the Viet Tien Garment Joint Stock Corporation leading the way.
Viet Tien has also recently opened a shop in Laos to bring its trademarks “Viet Tien”, “Viet Tien Smart Casual”, “San Sciaro” and “Viet Long” to the country and a recent survey shows that Viet Tien is doing well.
Apart from Laos and Cambodia , the corporation wants to promote and market its products in other ASEAN members, including Myanmar , Thailand , Indonesia , Malaysia and Singapore and also penetrate the Australian, New Zealand and Chinese markets.
The Deputy General Director of Viet Tien, Phan Van Kiet, said that following their successes in Asia, his corporation will promote its trademark in Europe .
However, experts have warned that Vietnamese garment’s businesses should only push their products and trademarks in markets where there is a substantial demand./.
