- President To Lam has called for addressing challenges and finding effective solutions to honouring organisations and individuals who rendered service to the nation, especially during wartime and the past four decades of renewal.

During a working session in Hanoi on July 31, the President underscored the significance of the year 2025, which marks several significant anniversaries, including the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) (February 3), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi on July 31, as part of his ongoing state visit to India.

Jaishankar extended a warm welcome to PM Chinh, one of the first foreign leaders to make a state visit to India since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's re-election for a third term. He affirmed that the Indian Government attaches importance to this visit and believes it will provide a strong impetus for Vietnam-India ties in the near future. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam-India Business Forum in New Delhi on July 31, as part of his state visit to India, during which he proposed the two sides work together to raise two-way trade to 20 billion USD in the coming time.

Trade between Vietnam and India expanded from 200 million USD in 2000 to nearly 15 billion USD last year, of which 8.5 billion USD came from Vietnam’s exports. Read full story

- Continuing his ongoing state visit to India, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh engaged with leaders of several leading Indian economic conglomerates in New Delhi on July 31, with the discussions focusing on deepening and concretising the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership.

The PM met with Rajesh Kumar Singh, Chairman of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) Limited – a unit of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Read full story

- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man has urged expediting the fulfillment of remaining tasks and schemes under the action plan of the Party Delegation to the NA, as the 15th legislature goes past its halfway mark.

During a working session in Hanoi on July 31 with the NA’s Social Affairs Committee, the NA Committee for Culture and Education, and the NA Standing Committee’s Committee for Deputy Affairs, Man touted upon the significant progress made thus far, with 89 out of 109 tasks, or 81.7% of the action plan, already completed. Impressively, 131 out of 156 legislative tasks have been fulfilled, amounting to a completion rate of 83.97%. Read full story

- President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta arrived in Hanoi on July 31 evening, beginning his four-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President To Lam.

- Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on July 31 hosted Yamada Takio, Special Advisor of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of the Japanese Government’s Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiative.

Congratulating Yamada for his appointment as the AZEC Ambassador, Ha affirmed that contents of the AZEC have been discussed, agreed upon and received commitments from senior leaders of Vietnam, Japan as well as partner countries. Read full story

- National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and India's Innovation India on July 31 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on collaboration in enhancing the two countries’ economic, investment, cultural, and tourism connections.

Under the MoU inked in New Delhi as part of a Vietnam-India business forum, the sides are scheduled to co-host the NAMASTE Vietnam Festival in late August in Ho Chi Minh City. This festival will feature trade, culture, and tourism workshops, along with art performances, providing a platform for business and community engagements between the two nations. Ho Chi Minh City, EU boast ample room for sustainable development cooperation

Since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1990, Vietnam and the EU have deepened the bilateral ties into one of the bloc’s most dynamic and in-depth partnerships with an ASEAN member, Ha noted, adding that the relationship entered a new chapter in January when the President of European Council’s visit upgraded it to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
