-Vietnamalways considers France one of its priority partners based on sincerity andtrustworthiness in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance,multilateralisation and diversification of ties, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhtold outgoing French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery during a receptionin Hanoi on July 6.
Speaking highly of the Ambassador and the FrenchEmbassy’s contributions to the Vietnam-France strategic partnership, PM Chinhsaid France now ranks second among European Union members in terms ofinvestment in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of about 3.57 billionUSD, fourth in trade exchange and first in provision of ODA assistance toVietnam, with a total concessional loan of 3 billion EUR. Two-way trade reached5.3 billion USD last year, up 10% year-on-year.Read full text

-The same day, PM Chinh hosted a reception for the new Ambassador of Brunei toVietnam, Datin Paduka Malai Hajah Halimah Malai Haji Yussof.

- No Vietnamese citizens affected by the recent unrest in France have beenrecorded so far, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hangsaid at the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on July 6.  
According to the diplomat, regarding the situationin some French cities, the Vietnamese Embassy in France has been closelymonitoring related developments, deploying personnel to operate hotlines, andstaying ready to provide timely assistance to Vietnamese citizens in case ofdifficulties or impacts.Read full text

- Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Pham Thu Hang has affirmed that theincident in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak is a serious andorganised violation of the law, causing serious disruptions to social securityand order, and so will be handled in line with the law.   
She made the affirmation in reply to reporters'queries on the incident at the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi onJuly 6, adding that all information related to the incident are regularlyupdated by the Ministry of Public Security. Vietnam, Belgium boost parliamentary cooperation, deepen bilateral relations

Senior military officer inspects martyrs’ remains search at Le Thị Rieng Park

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. The current generation, he said, must spare no effort in carrying out the Party’s policy and fulfilling the aspirations of the people, particularly the families of the fallen.

PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.

In Vietnamese cultural life, gratitude toward preceding generations has long been preserved as an integral part of the nation's identity. This tradition is reflected in ancestor worship practiced in families, the Worship of the Hung Kings, village deities, national heroes and eminent cultural figures, as well as tributes to generations who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence and freedom.

Border community twinning strengthens Vietnam–Laos friendship

Over the past decade, the twinning relationship between Thuy Phong village in Nghe An’s Kim Bang commune, and Xop Tuong village in Nam On commune, Xaychamphone district, Bolikhamxay province of Laos, has become a model for fostering a shared border of peace, friendship and cooperation.
