- Party General Secretary To Lam attended a meeting with outstanding teachers and education managers in Hanoi on November 18, during which he asked for stronger efforts to complete the goal of education and training reform.
The leader congratulated and commended the education sector, educators and educational administrators for recent achievements in education reform, while sending the best wishes to generations of teachers nationwide on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20). Read full story
- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Rio de Janeiro on November 17, during which the two leaders agreed to elevate the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and issue a Joint statement on the upgrade of the ties.
Looking back at the bilateral relationship over the past 35 years, PM Chinh affirmed that it has been built and developed on five fundamental pillars of shared ideals and trust, cultural affinity, complementary nature of the two economies, sincere and warm sentiments, and aspirations for peace and development. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended a Vietnam-Brazil business forum in Rio de Janeiro on 17 November afternoon (local time) as part of his trip to Brazil for attendance at the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in the Latin American country.
Brazil is currently Vietnam's leading trading partner in Latin America. In recent years, two-way trade has grown rapidly to over 7.1 billion USD in 2023 from 1.53 billion USD in 2011. In the first ten months of 2024, the figure reached 6.58 billion USD. The two sides are aiming to increase trade to 10 billion USD by 2025 and 15 billion USD by 2030. Read full story
- Ninh Binh hopes to build cooperative relations with Armenia’s historical cities and heritage urban areas, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan told visiting President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Alen Simonyan on November 18.

- Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien recently hosted a meeting in Moscow with Russian veterans who had served in Vietnam, honouring their crucial role in the struggle for Vietnam’s independence and reunification, as part of his working trip to the country.
At the event, Chien underscored the enduring bonds between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union as well as the Russian Federation that have withstood the test of time and historical changes, saying they laid the foundation for their comprehensive strategic partnership nowadays. Read full story
- Four northern provinces of Vietnam and China’s Yunnan province recently coordinated to organise the first skill and technical exchange activity for workers in Mengzi city, Honghe autonomous prefecture.

- Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung has announced that his ministry received over 3.34 million USD funded by Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) to promote circular economy and mitigate climate change impacts in industrial zones in Vietnam.
Speaking at the recent signing ceremony of the project document on replicating the eco-industrial park approach to promote circular economy in Vietnam, Trung said that this funding will facilitate the replication of the eco-industrial park (EIP) model nationwide based on successes in the 2014-2024 period, promote circular economy in the industrial sector and in IPs, minimise the impact of production activities on the environment, and support IPs in responding to climate change. - To enhance cargo handling capacity at the Cat Bi International Airport in the northern port city of Hai Phong, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has commenced the construction of a new cargo terminal, slated for completion and operation by January 2026.
According to ACV Deputy General Director Tran Anh Vu, the project worth 724 billion VND (28.5 million USD) is designed to handle 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually. The terminal will have a comprehensive system of technical infrastructure facilities, with an expandable capacity of up to 250,000 tonnes per year. Read full story

- The Hanoi 2024 Creative Design Festival has marked a milestone in the city's cultural landscape, drawing an unprecedented 300,000 visitors during its nine-day run from November 9-17.
The festival, themed "Creative Crossroads", saw a five-fold increase in attendance compared to last year event. It brought together more than 500 creative professionals, including designers, architects, artisans, and notably many young artists, across various design disciplines. Read full story
- Vietnam’s tra fish export could reach the set target of 2 billion USD this year driven by industry improvements, heard a workshop held in Cao Lanh city, the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, on November 17.
A report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Directorate of Fisheries said the total tra fish farming area is estimated at 5,370 hectares in 2024, with an expected harvest of 1.67 million tonnes. As of October, Vietnam shipped 1.56 billion USD worth of tra fish abroad, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%./. Read full story
