- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 14 urged ministries, agencies and localities to strengthen measles prevention and control measures, given an uptrend recorded in several localities.

- State President Luong Cuong met with mayor of Peru's capital Lima Rafael Lopez Aliaga on November 14, as part of his official visit to the country.
The Lima official affirmed that the people of the city, like all Peruvians, highly value the friendship and cooperative ties with Vietnam, pledged his readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, and voiced his hope for an early establishment of a sisterly relationship between Lima and a Vietnamese locality. - State President Luong Cuong received a delegation from the US-APEC Business Coalition in Lima on November 14 afternoon (local time), on the occasion of his attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
The coalition brings together the leading US business associations active on APEC to coordinate efforts in support of US policy objectives. US enterprises participating in the meeting operate in different fields, and mainly have investment projects in Vietnam. Read full story

- Despite challenges in the global rice market, Vietnam's is still on a right track to a new export volume record of over 8 million tonnes in 2024, surpassing last year’s result, according to insiders.
Do Ha Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Food Association and CEO of Intimex Group, said that 2024 will be another record-breaking year for rice exports, with the total to exceed 8 million tonnes and a value of over 5 billion USD, the highest ever. Furthermore, the average export price could also reach a record, potentially topping 600 USD per tonne. This has helped keep rice prices within the domestic market high and stable. Read full story

- As many as 140 exhibitors from 27 countries worldwide, including major powerhouses like the US, the UK, and France, have confirmed their participation at the second Vietnam International Defence Expo to be held by the Ministry of National Defence in mid-December, heard a press conference in Hanoi on November 15.
The event will take place at Gia Lam Airport on the outskirts of Hanoi from December 19-22 as part of the activities to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 35th anniversary of the All-people’s National Defence Day. Read full story
