- Vietnam always considers Russia one of the top priority partners in its foreign policy, President To Lam told Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko during a reception in Hanoi on June 17.

The Vietnamese Party, State and people always remember the significant and heartfelt support provided by the Soviet and Russian people, both historically during the fight for national independence and reunification, and in ongoing national building and safeguarding, the President said. - The European Union (EU) and its members are always leading important partners in Vietnam’s foreign policy, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man said while hosting a reception for EU Ambassador Julien Guerrier and ambassadors and Charges d’Affaires ad interim of EU states to Vietnam in Hanoi on June 17.

The Chairman expressed his delight at the robust development in the relations between Vietnam and EU as well as its members across all domains, with the enhanced exchange of high-level delegations, effective implementation of agreements and dialogue mechanisms that create a framework to bolster cooperation in trade-investment, healthcare, education, defence-security and agriculture, among others. - Minister of Public Security Sen. Lt. Gen. Luong Tam Quang hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) of the US in Hanoi on June 17, during which the two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

- The northern province of Bac Giang has exported more than 24,000 tonnes of lychees to many markets with fastidious requirements from the outset of this year, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

Shipments to the choosy markets have increased, with the US purchasing 23 tonnes, Japan 30 tonnes, the EU 53 tonnes and Australia 39 tonnes. Read full story

- The ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2024 (ABU Robocon 2024) will be held atthe Quang Ninh Multi-Purpose Gymnasium in the northern province of Quang Ninh’s Ha Long city from August 19-28.

The contet day, which comprises qualifying and final rounds, will take place on August 25. It will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television channel 2 (VTV2), and on digital platforms of Japan’s NHK TV channel, offering an opportunity for Quang Ninh to popularise its image, people and culture to the world.
